Jesus Healed Gopi and Venod.
Gopi's healing
It is my usual Sunday night waiting to watch Manchester United vs Chelsea at 1:30am (at this ungodly hour) only to be greeted by one of God's divine, unpredictable moment.
It began at 12:49am when my phone rang with an unusual (house) number and I was greeted by Gopi's sister on the line. She tried to remain calm and explain to me that Gopi is in a lot of pain in the ear. Their parents are both away at work and there's no one to care for him. The pain was severe and he's crying for an hour already! I told her I'll come over right away. So I quickly explain the situation to Huey and pack my "drug box" (which isn't really all encompassing) and make my way to Bestari.
Thank God for Doc Mike! Even at that hour, he would still pick up my phone (probably very unwillingly due to the hour) to advice me on which drugs would work to help ease the pain (from my insufficient drug box) to see what I can do. Sam Tan also reassured me if I needed any further assistance, he's on 'stand-by'.
As I was approaching Bestari flats, I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to pray for him first before administering drugs. So anyway, I arrived at the wrong block and the wrong floor (coz it was late and I was quite 'kan chiong'!), I called his sister and managed to find his house in Bestari flats. When I walked into his house, I saw him slouching down his chair in silence. I called out his name but no answer and I checked his pulse to reassure myself he's alive (wonder why I did that. Should have just called louder and shake him harder). Anyway, we managed to wake him up and he said in Tamil to his sister I can't really talk and am in a lot of pain. So his sister roughly explained to me what happened.
At this moment, I was told that a spider / fly entered his ear. Causing a severe pain in the ear which spread down to his jaw and cheek area on the left side. So I asked him was he feeling any pain at that moment? He just nod his head a little in agony. I explained that I'll pray for him and then if that doesn't help, we'll take some medication to help with the pain. He agreed. So I prayed and asked him again, does it still hurt? He said a little, so I prayed again and then taking the medicine that was prescribed by Doc to give it to him. But before I put it in his hands, I asked again, "do you still feel pain in your ear?". He paused for a while and said that he didn't feel the pain anymore. So I asked his sister to throw the capsules & tablets away because it was for pain relief and inflammation and asked him what happened again.
He explained that a fly went into his ear as he was riding behind his friends motorcycle and it has been really painful. So I asked him "do you feel it moving in your ear?". He replied "yes". And I thought this case must go hospital already to remove the bug. Drugs isn't gonna help anyway. As we were walking towards the car I asked him again "do you still feel it moving in your ear?". He paused again, this time longer, and said "no". I asked him to move his head in various directions and press his ear from different angles just to be sure. He told me there isn't any more pain. I knew it must be Jesus! So I told him that Jesus really cares for you and He has healed your ear. He removed the fly and the pain. He said "this is impossible". Then I reassured him that God is the God of the impossible. If He can raise the dead, he can heal your ear. Gopi keep insisting "please believe me Josh, it was really painful. I'm not lying to you." reassuring me he wasn't trying to act/lie so that I'd come over on such an urgent notice. I reassured him that I trust his words and that it was really painful, but God has healed you now.
However, I keep bugging him as I wasn't completely sure of how complete is the healing on his ear. So I asked him again and he said that his hearing wasn't clear on the side where the fly went in. So we stood on the road near the car and prayed again for God to heal and restore completely 100%. We prayed repeatedly and each time, it got a little better. After the 3rd time I asked him again and did some testing on both ears to see if he can hear normally and clearly. He confirmed it 3 times to me that it is healed! Praise Jesus! We chat a little of how much God loves him and remembers him that He extended His power through the Holy Spirit to heal his ear. I explained further that it wasn't me, nor himself, but God who is able to heal and do the impossible. As he was in my car, he teared and sob a little which got me worried if there's anything wrong again. But I soon realize it was the Holy Spirit. We thanked Jesus and went for mamak to watch MU drew with Chelsea 2-2 in the FA Cup Quarter finals. After that, just before he left, we just sat in the car to remember and thank Jesus for what He has done. Jehovah Rapha.
Venod's healing
It was 2012 when Mike Pilavachi came over with his team of 12 people to minister in our church, CLGC. It was a Sunday morning and Mike gave a call to anyone who has a sickness or pain to come up to the front to be ministered by God. Venod from Bestari came up for prayer. Some how I went up and found myself laying my hand on his shoulder to pray for him. Following Mike's instructions on what to do and what not to do when praying for someone, I asked Venod "What can I pray for you?". He told me that he just met with an accident not more than 7 days ago and his neck hurts. It hurts especially when he moves his neck because of the impact from the accident and his car is smashed up etc.
So we began to pray and ask Jesus to heal Venod's neck. So I prayed quietly to myself behind him, laying my hand and asking God to touch and heal his neck. After a minute, I turn to him and asked him whether or not the pain is still existent. He slowly moved his neck in various direction and pressing on his neck with his hands. Finally he said, "the pain is gone!". I can see it in His face, the face of sincere amazement to what has happened. Similar to Gopi's face when he said "This is impossible".
We took some time to talk about how Jesus cares and loves him and He showed him His love and power by healing him. I reminded him also that it wasn't me that could do such things but Jesus Himself that can heal because He is the one true and living God. He was in tears and thanked the Lord himself for his healing. What an amazing God we serve.
